Organic Centre Ltd

The Organic Centre is a not-for-profit organisation set up in 1995, with the aim of providing education, training and information about organic growing and sustainable living to as wide a spectrum of people as possible. The Organic Centre is certified by the Organic Trust.

The Organic Centre is located on a 19 acre site in Rossinver, Co Leitrim,  and also has access to outreach centres in Counties Clare and Wicklow.
The Centre also runs a very wide range of workshops on organic horticulture, gardening, green building, alternative energy, and artisan food production, in addition to providing a year long FETAC accredited organic horticultural training programme .

The Centre is a recognised eco-tourism destination. Facilities included are:

*  Demonstration gardens & polytunnels

*  An orchard & soft fruit area with heritage varieties

*  A café using seasonal organic produce from their gardens

*  An eco-shop selling garden tools, books, seasonal vegetables, etc.

Projects run by the Centre include:

Community Food Project– establishing organic community gardens where local people learn to grow and cook their own organic food.

Peace & Environment Project – a cross-border schools programme and cross-community project promoting peace through gardening together.
