The 21 official Organic Demonstration Farms have been approved by the Department of Agriculture & Food and the farm walks/open days are organised by Teagasc -the dates of the official Open Days/Farm Walks for 2008 are indicated on a downloadable .pdf file on the Applications page of our website.

The 2008 farm walks commence in June and run right through to September 2008.  The organic enterprises on each farm are also indicated on the listing provided, e.g. organic beef, dairy and lamb production; field-scale organic vegetable production; organic pig, poultry and egg production; organic grain production; small-scale organic horticultural production and so forth.

We have also indicated the name of the Organic Trust official representative at each of these events - all of the Organic Trust representatives are Approved Inspectors who can provide detailed technical information on any aspect of organic production plus the Organic Trust FREE information pack.

A wealth of knowledge and information is also available from current practitioners at these events and it is suggested that as many open days/farm walks as is possible are attended.  The open days/farm walks are open to all current and potential organic producers - attendance is free.
