Scally’s Supermarket, Clonakilty

Scally’s SuperValu has been serving the local community in Clonakilty since 1984 and is certified by the Organic Trust Ltd. Since inception, Scally's have continuously strived to deliver an exceptional level of service and value to their customers. In November 2004 Scallys embarked on a major new chapter in our history. We opened a new state of the art store which gave us the opportunity to offer an even higher level of service. We decided that to be at the cutting edge of Irish retailing and to compete and win against ever-increasing competition, we would have to be different. Wider aisles, better variety and faster service all served to improve the Scally’s Supervalu experience but we didn’t stop there. We’ve gone back to basics and have a full working kitchen preparing handmade meals using only the best natural ingredients. We’ve also set up an Artisan Bakery, which means the bread you buy from us is prepared and freshly made in store every day. When you love what you do it shows and at Scally’s SuperValu we love looking after you.

Eugene Scally decided that the emphasis of the new store should be on local, fresh and organic food.  A team of people has been built up who are innovative and passionate about their work.  This team of departmental managers is afforded a level of autonomy to be creative and different in their own departments - a development which is virtually unsurpassed in Irish retailing.

Where possible we use local suppliers for all our ingredients. West Cork has a fantastic range of artisan suppliers with a fast growing reputation for high quality products. We are proud to associate ourselves with this ethos and endeavour to reflect it in our food. The closer we are to our producers, the fresher the goods.  In Scally’s you will now find a vast range of organic food throughout the store from fresh food to ambient grocery products.
