National Organic Week 2010 - 13th to 19th September 2010

National Organic Week will take place from September 13th 2010 to September 19th 2010.  Many events will take place during this week including the Teagasc National Organic Conference which will be held on Thursday September 16th 2010 at the County Arms Hotel in Birr, Co Offaly - see separate entry.

National Organic Week is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the week is co-ordinated by Bord Bia on behalf of Foras Organach.

Activities during National Organic Week

National Organic Week 2010 aims to continue to raise consumer awareness of the benefits and increase the frequency of consumption of locally-produced organic food.  This will be achieved through a combination of a new outdoor and press advertising campaign combined with on-line, media and point of sale activities.

To highlight local organic produce, media interviews will be set up with a range of producers while details of organic events happening during National Organic Week will also be circulated to relevant media and included on the Bord Bia, DAFF and Foras Organach websites.

How you can get involved!

The key to the success of National Organic Week are the events that take place throughout the week which allow consumers to see organic production in action as well as sample and buy locally-produced products.  If you are planning activities such as in-store tastings or cookery demonstrations, please let Bord Bia know by completing their Point of Sale and Event Form which is available from .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  or order on-line at http://www.bordbia.ie/organicform

The sooner Bord Bia have information relating to your event, the more time there is to maximise the general public’s awareness of it in advance.

Point of sale material such as event posters and window stickers will also be distributed on request.
